Delta Thistle Curling Club's Sarah Daniels skips her rink into today's semi-final match-up at the BC Junior Women's Championships in Victoria. The 20-year-old is the defending champion.

There will be plenty of Delta flavour in today’s semi-final match-up at the BC Junior Women’s Curling Championships in Victoria.

Delta Thistle Club’s Team Daniels will take on Team Taylor at 3 p.m. Taylor’s rink features Tunnel Town Curling Club’s Meredith Cole at third and Keira McCoy at second.

Both teams finished tied atop the round-robin standings with 5-2 records, along with Team Buchy from Kimberley. It was Buchy that earned a bye directly to Thursday’s final thanks to winning both head-to-head meetings.

Sarah Daniels, the defending champion and runner-up at the 2019 nationals, was cruising along with a 3-0 record until losses to Buchy (9-5) and Taylor (6-4).

Taylor had a chance to secure first place but saw a late lead evaporate in a 9-8 loss to Team Bowles on Tuesday morning.

Bowles scored three in the 10th after Taylor had broken a 5-5 deadlock with pair in the eighth and another in the ninth.

The final is slated for 3 p.m. on Thursday and it will be streamed on cbcsports.ca. The winner will represent BC at the 2020 Canadian Championships in Langley later this month.
