Host Tsawwassen Athletics capture provincial silver

Athletics edged by White Rock Tritons at B.C. Minor Baseball's 13U A West Championships

The host Tsawwassen Athletics capped a terrific four days at Winskill Park earlier this month by nearly taking top prize at B.C. Minor Baseball’s 13U West Provincial Championships.

The As advanced to the gold medal game before falling 13-11 to the White Rock Tritons.

The game was a rematch from day one of the championships when Tsawwassen rallied for a 7-6 win. Both teams would go on to secure the two semi-final berths up for grabs in their pool group.

Tsawwassen also rolled past Campbell River (15-5) and Nanaimo (23-3) to take a 3-1 record into the playoffs. The As then produced a 4-3 thriller over Victoria to advance to the final.

Their roster featured: Alex Wood, Austin Cooper, Charlie Wey-Johnston, Jake Warhurst, Jesse Vance, Linden Savage, Mick Pitts, Owen Mayhew, Rowan Kettlewell, Ryder Giles, Tyler Losse, Van Rasmussen. Head coach Brian Losse was joined by assistants Danny Savage, Matt Kettlewell and Tiffany Rasmussen.

White Rock’s road to the title game included a 9-6 semi-final win against the Ladner Red Sox.
