Tsawwassen's Christie Jensen concluded her unversity hockey career by helping Providence College come ever-so-close to winning the Hockey East Championship.

The Rhode Island school reached the final where the Friars dropped a hearbreaking 2-1 decision to Boston University Terriers. Providence was clinging to a 1-0 lead when Boston equalized with just 7.3 seconds remaining. The Terriers then netted the game winner in double overtime.

Jensen was recognized for her outstanding play on the Friars blueline by being named to the AllTournament Team. She was a force at both ends of the rink and finished with four assists.

The South Delta Secondary graduate, who is majoring in health policy management, had a careerbest two goals and eight assists in 30 games.

Providence wrapped up the 2011-12 season with a 16-17-4 overall record. It is the only program to advance to the Hockey East semifinals in each of the conference's 10 seasons.
