For the third consecutive season, McRoberts Senior Girls Volleyball team has won the Richmond City Championships.

Despite a year-and-a-half hiatus from school sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Strikers continued to dominate against its rival Richmond teams.

The team beat out Richmond High, Burnett and MacNeill during playoffs and went undefeated in league play.

This Strikers team also won the championship in its Juvenile and Junior years.

The team has been coached by Raymond and Elizabeth Juco since its Juvenile year. The roster includes Tamara Dee, Maariyah Fazal, Andie Israel, Jade Juco, Kezia Kawamura, Yutaka Kojima, Kristy Kwok, Emily Liu, Ashley Mori, Zahraa Rehmtulla, Paige Sever, Jessica Tang and Catherine Yuen.

The Strikers are now headed to the South Fraser Championships, and are looking to build on their success from the City Championship and previous top four result at a tournament in Semiahmoo, where they pushed the top-ranked South Delta team to three sets.

The Steveston-London Senior Boys Volleyball team also captured the Richmond City Championships trophy.
