Pioneers begin playoffs

After beginning the season with two straight losses, the Pioneers have been perfect since and will be overwhelming favourites in their opening round series with the eighth place Chilliwack Mustangs.

The best-of-three matchup got underway last night in Ladner and continues tonight in Chilliwack. If needed, game three will take place in Ladner on Friday. The Mustangs finished with a 2-11-0-1 record and were dominated by the Pioneers in two regular season meetings, losing by scores of 11-5 and 19-4.

Ladner concluded league play last Thursday by blasting the visiting North Shore Indians 24-3. Brett Taylor led the way with five goals and four assists.

Quinn Waddington (4-5) and Nathan Clare (3-6) also enjoyed nine-point nights.
