A couple of huge outings against his former team has helped earned Lukas Svejkovsky Western Hockey League Player of the Week honours.

The 20-year-old forward from Point Roberts had a pair of goals in the Seattle Thunderbirds' 5-2 win over the Vancouver Giants on Friday at the Langley Events Centre. One night later in Kent, WA, Svejkovsky had a career best five-point night, including a hat trick, in a 6-2 home ice win against Vancouver.

His productive week also included an assist in Sunday’s 4-1 triumph over the Tri-City Americans.

After coming through the Delta Hockey Academy, Svejkovsky began his WHL career with the Giants after being selected in the second round of the 2016 WHL Prospects Draft. He would eventually be traded to Medicine Hat, before making his way back to Washington State in a deal with the Thunderbirds on Jan. 21. He has now produced 39 points, including 17 goals, since moving to Seattle and has a career best 69 points in 53 games.

He was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft.

Svejkovsky and the Seattle Thunderbirds are next in action Friday when they play host to Tri-City.
