Storm surge lands Atom squad in final foursome

Hockey team also wins league championship banner

The South Delta Atom A2 Storm rep hockey team finished off the 2011-2012 regular season in style, capturing the PCAHA Fraser Valley Conference Flight 3 league championship banner and securing a spot in the final four playoffs.

The Storm finished with an 11-3-6 record with the lowest goals against and penalty minutes, a testament of solid team play and discipline.

Goaltenders Josh Issler and Nelson Griffiths backstop the Storm. The defensive corps includes Carson Hemenway, Sevak Jassar, Matthew Morison, Rhys (Dave) Saleken, Hayden Tuba and Matthew Willford.

The forward line-up features Chase Boutilier, Van Lupien, Carter McColman, Tristan McLean, Rhys Porteous, Calean Ramage, Alex Scouras, Aiden Van Poelgeest and Max Yingling.

Head coach Lawson "Boots" Boutilier, assistants Chad Dey, Jim Scouras, Blair Tuba, Mark McColman and manager Nancy Morison are proud of the hard work and determination the boys showed all season.

The team will be in a tournament in Kennewick, Washington, before playing in the final four playoffs in Chilliwack March 9.
