Tsawwassen's Nathaniel Factor is taking his baseball career to McGill University next fall where he will enroll in the Montreal school's Computer Engineering Program.

Some outstanding work on the diamond and in the classroom have paved the way for the next chapter of Nathaniel Factor’s baseball career in Eastern Canada.

The Grade 12 student at South Delta Secondary has committed to McGill University for the 2022 season. The Montreal school plays a fall schedule that concludes at the Canadian University Invitational Tournament, featuring teams from Ontario and the Maritimes. The Redbirds’ roster includes players from both sides of the border.

Factor’s talent and versatility generated plenty of interest from Canadian and U.S. schools. Also enhancing his options was thriving academically since Grade 8 with a 4.00 GPA.

An excellent SAT score set the stage for offers from schools in Florida, North Dakota, New York, Texas and Arizona, however his career ambitions gave McGill the edge. Factor will enrol in the school’s Computer Engineering program and potentially minor in Aerospace/Astrophysics.

His decorated minor baseball career includes helping the White Rock Tritons represent Canada at the Little League World Series back in 2017. The highlight of Factor’s experience in Williamsport, PA was hitting a home run in a win against Venezuela.

He went on to play for the Tritons’ B.C. Premier Baseball League team, along with the Toronto Blue Jays Scout team – Arizona and the Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team/Big League Experience (BLE) Scout team.

Since he was 10, Factor was also selected every year by BLE to compete in travel tournaments in Las Vegas and Arizona.  He continues to help BLE’s Marty Lehn with baseball clinics held in Tsawwassen anytime they are in town.
