Paige Collings will be looking to spend her second straight summer wearing Canadian colours.

The softball standout from Tsawwassen is among 26 players invited to attend the national women's team selection camp, slated for June 15-22 in Oklahoma City. The 21-year-old is enjoying another outstanding season at Drexel University in Philadelphia where she earned a full ride scholarship after growing up through the Delta Heat organization.

The senior catcher/left fielder currently leads the Dragons in RBI (24) and home runs (seven) while batting .299 with a .517 slugging percentage.

Collings is one of three players from Delta invited to the tryout camp, joining veteran and 2008 Olympian Jennifer Yee, along with pitcher Jocelyn Cater.

'We are pleased to be finalizing selection camp plans and expect a very competitive camp in June' stated Senior Women's National Team head coach Mark Smith.

"We have a strong veteran core returning and a number of young players who are capable of challenging for positions on the senior roster."

Canada will compete at the US World Cup of Softball VII (June 28 to July 2 in Oklahoma City), the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship (July 4-9 at Softball City in Surrey) and the ISF XIII Women's World Championship, which will take place from July 13-22 in Whitehorse, YK.
