Four South Delta soccer players are enjoying a successful spring/summer season as part of the U11 Total Soccer Systems (TSS) Academy Team.

The group of boys are participating in Washington-based tournaments featuring elite players from both the U.S. and Canada.

Jake Dadashi, Simon Raderecht, Garrett Wicks and Jonas Zimmerman, along with other boys from throughout the Lower Mainland, have taken home gold medals from the Skagit River Cup in Mount Vernon as well as the Baker Blast in Bellingham.

Dadashi, from Tsawwassen, and Zimmerman, from Ladner, both contribute in offensive roles and are responsible for multiple goals for the TSS Academy Titans.

Wicks, from Ladner, is a stalwart defender who is among team leaders in minutes played. Raderecht, also from Ladner, has been outstanding in goal. They were all integral parts of a penalty shootout win in the championship game of the recent Baker Blast.

TSS head coach Rob Dattilo completes the local flavour as he also resides in Ladner.

"The boys are a real treat to work with," he said. "All along, I have emphasized that winning is a result of playing well, and that playing well is our priority. So far, we seem to play our best at the right times. It is important though that we instil a love and passion for the game to these young and impressionable soccer players."

The boys will compete next this weekend in Seattle at the Sounders FC Cup. They thank all their coaches, and parents for their support.
