Championship season has arrived for the Winskill Dolphins Swim Club and a number of swimmers will be making their way to the Vancouver Aquatic Centre next week.

That’s where the Vancouver Coastal Championships will take place, one of three divisional qualifying events around the province that will determine which athletes will advance to the B.C. Championships slated for March 10 to 13 in Victoria. The meet, which gets underway Feb. 25, will feature 350 participants.

Dolphins’ assistant coach Duco Schuurman Hess will be accompanying a strong Dolphins team that has been working hard at the Winskill Aquatic Centre in preparation for the pinnacle competitions of the short course season.

Representing the club in Vancouver will be Max Cherdantsev, Marley Dodds, Caitlyn Fowler, Matthew Friesen, Isla Lord, Isabella Mady, Kyla Marshall, Alina Paul, Matias Raffai, Sophia Raffai, Jacob Zabudsky, Kiera Zepeda and Yinan Zhu.
