Council candidate Craig DeCraene wants Delta to focus on crosswalk improvements.
The North Delta resident in a news release outlined concerns, particularly about speeding vehicles on Wade Road.
“When asked what I would propose to do to protect the safety and livability of residents of Wade Road,
I would propose the same upgrades that the city as done to 82nd avenue. Raised crosswalks helps to slow traffic curbing speeding,” he said.
“I have the same issue personally with vehicles speeding down 80th. This is a part of the public safety issue I touched on before. More needs to be done before someone is struck and killed.”
He added better lighting would help drivers see pedestrians where enhanced crosswalks aren’t used in Delta.
The election takes place Oct. 20.
