DTA endorses several Delta school board candidates

The Delta Teachers Association had candidates answer several questions including why they want to be school board trustees.

The Delta Teachers’ Association has endorsed the following school trustee candidates following a pair of all-candidates meetings the union organized in conjunction with CUPE Local 1091: Rhiannon Bennett, Andrea Hilder, Mita Naidu, Nick Kanakos, Val Windsor, Randy Anderson-Fennell and Victor Espinoza.

The DTA says its constitution allows for endorsing school trustee candidates “who are in support of a viable, thriving, quality public education system.”

The DTA's executive committee decided which candidates merit endorsement after reviewing responses to a questionnaire most of the candidates answered.

Election day will be held Oct. 20.
