2018 ended off an unfortunate note for this car owner.

A post to the Ladner’s Landing Facebook group on New Year’s Eve described a scene where a “brand new” Mustang was being extracted from the water at the boat launch at the end of Ferry Road.

The post noted a scuba diver and crew, Delta police and Roadway towing were there to help get the car out of the water.

“We did receive a complaint on Dec. 30 about a vehicle which ended up submerged in the water,” DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf told the Optimist. “Our officers attended the Ferry Rd. boat launch and spoke with the complainant.”

Leykauf added that “police also attended the recovery of the vehicle on Dec. 31. I can confirm that no occupants were inside the vehicle.”
