Delta police, fire and paramedics including an air ambulance are all on the scene in Boundary Bay Wednesday afternoon.

Confirmed details from DPD are limited at this point.

“Police were called to an incident on 67 St. in Boundary Bay. A helicopter was called in for a medical evacuation,” said DPD spokesperson Cris Leykauf in an email to the Optimist. “I can’t provide much more in terms of a comment at this time. It’s an active investigation. However, the public is not believed to be at risk.”

Leykauf said one person was being transported by the air ambulance to hospital.

Optimist community columnist Brad Sherwin, who lives in the area, sent in a photo of the air ambulance that landed in the school field.

He said there were eight police cars, a fire truck and two ambulances in the area, adding that he has never seen a police car with lights on go down his street before in the 25 years that he has been living there.

He said from what he could tell, the patient that was being loaded into the air ambulance appeared to be conscious and was holding their arm
