Albany Books recently relocated to the Town Centre Mall. The store's former site could become home to a pub.

The space formerly occupied by Albany Books in Tsawwassen is up for rent and a pub/restaurant could end up there.

That’s according to real estate agent Michael Anderson, who recently told the Optimist he’s been asked by the landlord to find an eatery for the space at the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre.

He said the landlord is hoping for “a really cool restaurant concept” to fill the vacancy in the strip mall at the northeast corner of 56th Street and 12th Avenue.

“It could be a brew pub but not necessary brewing on site. It would be more of a brew pub-style, something not in the market that would have a wow factor. It’s about a couple of thousand square feet in there, so it’s big enough. And we could do stuff outside that building like open up some windows in the summertime,” said Anderson.

In business for 35 years, the book store recently relocated to the Town Centre Mall across the street.
