East Ladner Tims is just weeks away

In a few weeks residents will be enjoying double doubles and munching on Timbits at another Tim Hortons in East Ladner.

Construction of a small Tim Hortons on a vacant lot adjacent to the Otter Co-Op gas station on Ladner Trunk Road at 64th Street appears to be progressing well with a sign out front stating the eatery will open in January 2019. It’s also looking for employees, inviting people to end in resumes.

The establishment will be a drive-thru with a small number of inside seating.

Southborough Investments had been trying to build the restaurant since 2014, however the proximity of the drive-thru to nearby homes and the hours of operation were sticking points for council, which rejected an initial proposal.

A second proposal that included a higher fence and reduced hours of operation was received more favourably by council.

Delta doesn’t have a formal policy when it comes to drive-thrus, considering applications on a case-by-case basis.
