A new business has opened in Ladner Village while a familiar one is relocating.
Domino’s Pizza is now open in the newly renovated building at 5068-48th Ave.
Meanwhile, Buttercups Children’s Boutique is re-locating this weekend to the retail space next door in the same building.
The business is currently located in the 4800-block of Delta St. The store’s Carol Tilby said they’re looking forward to the move, selling the same selection of baby and children’s clothing in a big new space. Jessica Sanders is the new owner of Buttercups.
A third retail store next door in the 48th Ave. building is still available for rent.
Constructed in 1967, the building was most previously occupied by a used book store, a gift shop and a social services office.
Late last year, council granted a development variance permit for the two-storey structure, which has 4,060 square feet of total retail below and six rental apartments comprising almost the same amount above. The renovation is intended to provide the 48th Ave. frontage with a "face lift" inspired by early 20th Century small town commercial architecture.
