Reach will benefit again from McHappy Day at McDonald's

Proceeds from local outlets to go to child development society on May 2

Ladner and Tsawwassen McDonald's restaurants have once again named Reach Child and Youth Development Society as their charity of choice for McHappy Day proceeds.

The 20th McHappy Day in the history of McDonald's Canada will be held on Wednesday, May 2. On this day, one dollar from every Happy Meal, coffee, McMuffin and Big Mac sold goes to local children's charities across the country.

Reach Child and Youth Development Society has been in the community for over 50 years providing programs, services and resources to children and youth with special needs and their families. Programs include infant development, therapies, inclusive preschools, services for children with autism, behavioural support, respite, social programs for teens with special needs and more.

Reach is currently raising $4 million to build a centre in the heart of Ladner that will make services easier to access, and help serve more children and youth with developmental disabilities.

This is the sixth year the Ladner and Tsawwassen McDonald's are donating McHappy Day proceeds to Reach.

Volunteers will be at McDonald's greeting customers and offering information about Reach. There will also be face painting, balloon animals, music and more. Reach's rentable wheelchair bikes will also be on display in both locations.
