The Probus Club of South Delta will be talking cannabis at its next meeting in Tsawwassen.

Probus, a non-profit club for retired and semi-retired people who wish to gather with others to enjoy learning and fellowship, will hold its monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19 at the Coast Tsawwassen Inn. Guest speaker Matthew Stockton will talk about the cannabis industry.

Stockton is head of marketing for Qwest Cannabis. Prior to joining Qwest, he was based in London for 20 years where he led the global marketing for some of the world’s most iconic spirits and tobacco brands.

Having fallen in love with British Columbia on a vacation a few years before, he moved to Vancouver just prior to cannabis legalization, and saw the opportunity to apply his knowledge of marketing in heavily regulated industries to cannabis and to help create the iconic brands of the future.

His presentation will cover a brief history of cannabis, where the market is headed, the basics of the plant and an inside look at cannabis marketing techniques.

Guests are welcome at the meeting.
