Delta council recently gave the thumbs-up to a liquor licence amendment application by the Tsawwassen Springs Golf & Country Club.

The application, which will head to the provincial Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch for approval, won’t be referred to a public hearing.

The amendment for the liquor-primary licence at the golf course outdoor kiosk, called the Snack Shack, would change the hours of operation to start at 9 a.m., rather than 11 a.m. currently, while establishing a consistent closing time of 1 a.m.

A staff report notes the change is not expected to result in any material change to the operation of the kiosk, nor significantly increase noise levels on the golf course or increase parking demands on the site.

The report also notes it is council’s policy to refer a liquor-primary licence application or any application which involves significant changes to the sale, service and consumption of alcohol to a public hearing, but in this case the amendment is minor.

The kiosk is situated between the 10th and 11th holes on the golf course.
