A large-scale Delta greenhouse operator who is now in the cannabis propagation business has entered its first supply agreement.

Propagation Services Canada, a company based out of Ladner’s Houweling Nurseries, has executed a propagation supply agreement with Alta-Sun Samson Holdings Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cabbay Holdings Corp. The agreement calls for Propagation Services Canada to supply high-CBD cannabis plants for a five-acre outdoor grow operation near Edmonton, Alberta, a news release states.

Last year AgraFlora Organics International Inc. entered into a partnership with Houweling Nurseries owner Casey Houweling to form Propagation Services Canada Inc. to provide  “flower ready” starter  plants to cannabis cultivators in Canada and internationally.

“Providing flower ready cannabis plants to cultivators is a natural evolution of the cannabis industry, following a similar path as the vegetable growing industry,” said Houweling in a news release at the time.

Last year AgraFlora Organics International Inc. also announced plans with Houweling Nurseries that will see the conversion of the 2.2 million square foot Ladner greenhouse for cannabis production. The 20 hectare (49-acre) facility on 64th Street will be the second largest cannabis greenhouse facility in Canada. AgraFlora will focus on medical cannabis.
