Delta Gymnastics executive director Ana Arciniega was elected chair of Gymnastics BC at the group’s annual general meeting last weekend in Richmond.

“We are pleased with the results as Ms. Arciniega brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Gymnastics BC,” said CEO Brian Forrester. “Since 2012, she has held the role of executive director of Delta Gymnastics Society and has actively worked in growing and expanding the reach of the sport and activity of gymnastics within her community.”

Arciniega has been associated with many not-for profit organizations in Delta for over 20 years, serving as a leader, staff member, volunteer and mentor.

“I am honoured to receive the trust of my fellow member clubs to take on the responsibility of helping guide the vision and impact of this organization,” said Arciniega. “For the past six years, I have come to understand the critical services gymnastics clubs provide to communities throughout the province to teach children to have the confidence and competence to move, play and participate in sports.

“Together, we are delivering recreational and competitive programs to over 50,000 infants, children, youth and adults in our province.”

Gymnastics BC was established in 1969 with the mission to provide positive and diverse gymnastics experiences for province-wide participation at all levels. For more information, visit www.gymbc.org.
