Delta school counsellor busted for child porn

Hundreds of disturbing images including young children being raped discovered on the computer of William Brook

A Delta school counsellor has been arrested and charged with possession of child porn.

According to reports, U.S. officers searched the Point Roberts home of William Brook last week, allegedly finding 334 images and videos, which included young children being raped. It's believed none of the images discovered so far involved Delta students.

According to Seattle P.I., federal prosecutors contend Brook downloaded hundreds of images and videos at his home. Homeland Security agents received a tip last month that he had been buying child porn online.

Agents stopped his car last Wednesday as he attempted to cross the border and return home to Point Roberts. They seized his school district-issued computer he had in his possession, but illegal images were not found on that computer.

At that stop, where he was reported to be acting nervously, he is alleged to have admitted to exchanging photos on chat websites.

According to court documents filed in Seattle, an agent stated, "I asked Brook if the photos were of nude children and Brook replied 'some of them'."

When he arrived with officers at his Benson Road home, Brook allegedly said, "I just want to erase this stuff."

Seattle P.I also reported a Homeland Security agent told the court Brook opened an online profile he'd created in which he declared his "love" for "pre-teen/pubescent boys and young teens" no older than 14. Agents claim to have seen that Brook had downloaded child pornography the day before.

He was arrested after the search and taken into custody where he remains. He appeared before a judge at U.S. District Court in Seattle on Monday and is scheduled to appear again later this week.

Learning of the allegations last week, the Delta school district would not say the schools Brook worked or age of the students. An investigation is taking place to see if he was involved in any criminal activity here, but he doesn't appear to have a criminal history in Canada.

Noting Brook worked as a psychologist, a school board spokesperson said, "We want to ensure our parents and school communities that student safety is our top priority and we take these incidents very seriously." The district as of Monday hasn't said whether parents of students who met with Brook will be notified.

In a separate case five years ago, a Delta city senior official was charged and later pled guilty to possessing many pornographic images and videos of young children. In that case, the sentencing judge noted Kip Gaudry's possession was "toward the more horrible end of the scale."
