Fraser Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak at the Good Samaritan Delta View Care Centre in East Delta over.

A staff member at the facility was confirmed on Oct. 9 to have tested positive for the virus and the health region’s rapid response team was at the site.

Enhanced control measures were put in place and FHA worked with staff to identify anyone who may have been exposed.

It was the second time a staff member tested positive at the long-term care facility.

The first reported case came from Fraser Health on March 21, but that also turned out to be the only case connected with the 296-bed facility at that time.

The FHA on Friday also noted that outbreaks were over at PICS Assisted Living in Surrey, Chartwell Carrington House Retirement Residence in Mission and Thornebridge Gardens Retirement Residence in New Westminster.

With the implementation of comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to COVID-19 in care facilities, there are no longer any COVID-19 cases at those locations.

Meanwhile, individual staff members at Dr. Al Hogg Pavilion, Laurel Place and Fair Haven Homes Burnaby Lodge have tested positive for COVID-19.

Fraser Health says it has declared outbreaks at these locations.

In addition, Fraser Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Coast Spas Manufacturing, located at 6315 – 202 Street, Langley, after finding evidence of COVID-19 transmission among staff working there.

To date, 12 employees of the facility have tested positive.

Fraser Health is screening employees at the facility and case and contact management is ongoing.

Those identified as cases and close contacts have been instructed to self-isolate.

Fraser Health says it first became aware of COVID-19 cases at the location on Oct. 13th and has issued a closure order to the facility, working with the operator to strengthen their COVID-19 mitigation strategies.
