Delta police are investigating a second accident involving a cyclist in less than 24 hours in South Delta.

DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf told the Optimist Wednesday afternoon that a teenage cyclist was struck around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ladner Trunk and Linden Drive.

“I can confirm it was a teen who was involved in the accident. He was taken to hospital, but I do not know the extent of his injuries," said Leykauf.

She said officers are still on scene as of 4 p.m. The eastbound curb lane is shutdown to traffic until further notice.

Delta police will provide updates on when the area will be full re-opened to traffic through their social media channels (Facebook and Twitter).

On Tuesday afternoon a cyclist was killed in an accident on 72nd Ave. near the Boundary Bay Airport. Police are still actively investigating this accident as well.
