Potholes have been a pain for drivers travelling through the George Massey Tunnel.
This morning AM730 tweeted that there was a “significant” pothole in the only southbound lane inside the tunnel and advised drivers to slow down.
A tweet later in the morning noted the pothole had forced a lot of cars to the right shoulder at the south end of the tunnel.
Optimist publisher Matt Blair said he saw half a dozen vehicles damaged by a pothole this morning.
DriveBC tweeted that maintenance in the tunnel was underway this morning.
Members in the Ladner’s Landing Facebook group have been talking about potholes in the tunnel in a couple posts the last few days.
“My husband blew a tire on the pothole at 6 a.m. today,” read one Jan. 21 comment. “I went through it shortly after him and thought it was going to happen to me too! It was massive!”
Another user posted on Tuesday, “That thing was huge! I thought it was gonna rip my tire off when I hit it yesterday....”
