RCMP in Chase were able to sniff out a large cache of stolen dog food that has ties to a theft in Delta.

Cpl. Scott Linklater said on July 12, officers executed another search warrant at a rural property near Scotch Creek, recovering a large amount of stolen dog food.

“During the previous search on June 21, police noted a suspiciously large amount of Acana and Orijen brand dog and cat food on the property. In the following days, investigators determined the pet food was related to a theft reported to the Delta Police Department in April of 2019,” said Linkater. “Hundreds of bags of dog and cat food were recovered during the search with a total value of $12,700.”

Linklater said no charges have been laid in the case of the stolen pet food and the investigation is ongoing.

A report to BC Prosecution Services will be submitted for consideration of applicable charges.
