Outdoor fitness classes start Monday

Delta’s new outdoor fitness classes have now started. Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is giving residents the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and stay active while helping reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Delta’s new outdoor fitness classes have now started.

Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is giving residents the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and stay active while helping reduce the spread of COVID-19. Through their brand new outdoor fitness classes, Delta staff will lead participants through classic fitness programs at Winskill Park in South Delta and at the turf fields at North Delta Community Park.

Registration opened to Delta residents only on June 29 and classes started today (July 6).

Participants are asked to bring their own mat, towel, and water bottle for the class. No extra equipment will be required. Physical distancing measures will be in place to provide a safe space for participants.

Be sure to dress in athletic attire appropriate for the activity and weather. For information regarding cancellations due to weather, call 604-952-3845 (information for same day classes will be available at 11 a.m., following morning classes will be available at 7 p.m. the day before).

To help protect the safety of staff and participants during the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture are requiring all participants to refrain from attending it you are experiencing any of the following:

  • cold/flu symptoms (i.e. cough, fever, sore throat, etc.)
  • difficulty breathing, chills
  • you or someone in close contact to you is ill with cold/flu symptoms
  • you or someone close to you have been told to self-isolate by public health
  • you or someone you live with have traveled outside of Canada within the last 14 days.
