Delta North MLA Scott Hamilton recently presented Reach Child and Youth Society executive director Renie D'Aquila with a donation of $20,000 for the organization's capital campaign.

"We are very pleased that the province of B.C. continues to invest in infrastructure needed to support children and youth with special needs as this new communitybased child development centre will be a significant resource to our community," said D'Aquila.

The funding is in addition to the Ministry of Children and Family's commitment of $211,346 to fund 20 new preschool spaces for children aged three to five.

Once complete, the three-storey centre will allow Reach to double the number of children served over time and it will serve as a place of learning and belonging for children with special needs and their families.

The $5 million centre adjacent to the Ladner Pioneer Library will provide therapy and counselling rooms, youth social and prevocational training, specialized lending libraries and an inclusive pre-school with an accessible playground.
