Listeners of South Asian radio station KRPI 1550 AM have shown their support for the Reach Child and Youth Development Society.

"We fundraise to address unmet needs in our communities," said Reach executive director Renie D'Aquila.

KRPI listeners were introduced to the Reach Foundation's Building for Children Together capital campaign to build a new child development centre in Ladner and contributed $4,300 to the cause.

Having reached the $4-million mark of the $5-million goal, Reach will break ground this spring.

The new building will allow Reach to provide more programs for children with special needs and increase the number of children served.

"The Corporation of Delta is dedicated to seeing Reach's new child development centre built in order to lay a strong foundation to serve children with special needs and their families in the future," said Bishop.

Reach has been providing services since 1959. Over 1,000 children and their families benefit on an annual basis.
