Even though the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of this year’s graduation ceremony for Delta Continuing Education’s academic programs, students who achieved completion of their high school diplomas were celebrated one at a time at Delta Community College on June 18, and awards for Citizenship and Academic Achievement for students of LINC, Adult Foundations, and Grades 11 and 12 were presented.
In total, more than 21 graduates participated, and an additional 10 adult learners were presented with citizenship or achievement awards.
Mayda De Winter, Sarah Bowker, and Claire Chen were presented with Significant Achievement Awards; Krista Renfors, Jennie Peterson, and Aidan Aubey each received an Award of Merit; and Davinder Bhatti received the 2020 Yvonne Chard Adult Basic Education award.
