Environment Canada has a snowfall warning currently in effect for Delta and other areas of Metro Vancouver.

“Snowfall with total amounts of 5 to 20 cm is expected today and tonight,” according to Environment Canada.

Snowfall amounts will vary across the region, Environment Canada notes, adding “the highest amounts are expected over the northern and inland sections of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley where the snow will persist the longest, until tonight or Wednesday morning.”

Delta police is reminding motorists to be “winter smart” while driving.

“Please take your time on the roads. They are very messy,” Delta police Chief Neil Dubord tweeted.

The George C. Reifel Bird Sanctuary advised any potential visitors to call ahead before coming out.
