ICBC keeps statistics on the top crash sites throughout the region but also individual cities. Here’s the top 10 crash sites in Delta in 2017:

3) George Massey Tunnel - 142

4) 120 Street & 80th Avenue - 126

5) 72nd Avenue & 72nd Avenue off ramp - 120

6) 120 Street & Nordel Way - 111

7) 120 Street & 58th Avenue & Highway 10 - 103

8) 120 Street & 96th Avenue - 100

9) Highway 91 & Nordel Way - 87

10) 120 Street & 64th Avenue – 85

The intersection at Scott Road and 72nd Avenue in North Delta continues to be the most dangerous as far as number of accidents

 

Four of the next 10 crash sites are also along 120 Street in North Delta.

As far as the top crash sites in Delta over a five-year period, the top 5 are:

 

1) Alex Fraser Bridge – 1,130

2) 120 Street & 72nd Avenue – 772

3) 120 Street & 80th Avenue – 548

4) 120 Street & Nordel Way - 539

5) George Massey Tunnel – 534

The George Massey Tunnel continues to be near the top in number of accidents in Delta

 

In what is believed to be a first for policing in B.C., the Delta Police Department’s traffic unit last year announced it will be regularly advising social media followers when and where traffic enforcement will be occurring.
