The Delta Police Pipe Band will put on a short performance at the Tsawwassen Legion on Remembrance Day.

The Tsawwassen Legion is inviting the public to recognize and honour our veterans on Remembrance Day.

Legion president Bill Belsey said members will be participating in the service to be held in Ladner, but will also be holding their own starting at 1 p.m. at the Legion branch located in Century Square.

“The ceremony will take about an hour and is very similar to what Ladner or any other Legion does,” he said. “It is open to all our members and of course all of the public to attend. The very last thing we do is invite first our veterans and then dignitaries to come to the front and pin a poppy on a large flag we have. After the ceremony there will be food and drinks available and we usually go until 6 or 7 p.m. at night.”

He said the Delta Police Pipe Band will also be on hand and will put on a 15- to 20-minute performance in the afternoon.
