The Delta police traffic unit is reporting a mind-blowing incident Tuesday morning after pulling over a truck in the 6400 block of Highway 17.

“Our traffic unit found this truck on the 6400 block of Highway 17 this morning with six flat tires and a cracked rim,” reported DPD on its Facebook page. “The driver was hauling 30 tons of gravel with an inoperative suspension.

“The results speak for themselves. The truck will be towed and won't be allowed back on the road again until the owner can prove it has been repaired.”

“The trailer's suspension was inoperative due to a major malfunction,” added Const. Ken Usipiuk. “None of the six airbags were filled and one airbag was observed to be cut through. Five of the flat tires had a slice in the sidewall or were right off the bead of the rim.

“Before the trailer could be towed from the side of highway all flat tires were replaced and the rim was replaced on the one tire missing the rim. Because of the major malfunction to the suspension the trailer had to be towed at slow speed.”
