Volunteers help shovel out

The City of Delta also has their Snow Angels program at the ready and is always looking for more volunteers.

The service is available to Delta residents 65 years and older who have physical limitations and do not have others in their household or nearby who are able to assist.

Older residents over 70 and who have physical limitations receive first priority.

Last winter saw 49 volunteers help approximately 91 recipients while logging over 170 hours.

The program doesn’t provide shoveling of driveways for cars.

To become a Snow Angel, you must be at least 18 years old, or between the ages of 13 to 17 with adult supervision. Volunteers have to get a police information check.

Community groups are also invited to join together.

All Snow Angels must provide their own shovels.
