Fire investigators remain on the scene this afternoon trying to determine the cause of a house fire in the 5300 block of First Avenue in Tsawwassen on Wednesday morning.
“There was some pretty extensive damage to the house itself,” said Delta deputy fire Chief Guy McKintuck. “We had five apparatus show up. There was thick smoke and flames coming from the structure upon arrival. There was no one in the structure at the time.
“It was a defensive fire attack where they weren’t sending one into the building due to the involvement of the fire. There was a quick knockdown and they are currently mopping up and basically checking for hot spots.”
There were no injuries to the firefighters or occupants.
