Whoops - Tsawwassen misspelled on giant mural

If you’re going to do a mural showing Tsawwassen, at least spell it right. Visitors to downtown Victoria have likely seen this mural on the side of a building, but it’s not until closer inspection you’ll notice Tsawwassen is spelled incorrectly.

If you’re going to do a mural showing Tsawwassen, at least spell it right.

Visitors to downtown Victoria have likely seen this mural on the side of a building, but it’s not until closer inspection you’ll notice Tsawwassen is spelled incorrectly. For whatever reason, it hasn’t been corrected. This photograph taken by Kirby Reid was recently posted on the (New) Tsawwassen Loop Facebook group with an appropriate “Whoops” as part of his description.

Speaking on murals, one of the ideas being pitched by the Delta Fishing Heritage Society includes a town mural project for Ladner. In an interview earlier this year, a member of the group said a city heritage mural project could really put Delta on the map, something like Chemainus, B.C.

A digital image of a painting by artist John Horton superimposed on a photo of the Ladner Fisherman's Hall exterior wall drew quite a buzz. There’s no word whether the city might be interested in the idea.
