Hello  from my cousin’s house in Ottawa! School just ended, so my family and I hopped on a plane (for four hours… Ugh!), and arrived in Ottawa,Ontario- the capital of Canada! From there we drove to our cousins Luke and Sam’s house for a good night’s sleep. Ottawa  is three hours ahead, and when we got there, it was eleven o’clock at night. (That means it was eight o’clock at night in British Columbia). So I guess you could say I got to stay up late while going to bed on time! I’ve done lots of exciting things here in the last two days like yesterday when we went on a tour of the Parliament buildings. That place has airport security! There they have a HUGE library with a collection of over six hundred  thousand  books, it makes sense that it’s so big. The inside had many beautiful, intricate stone carvings. The building looked like it was ripped from the pages of a Harry Potter book (especially the library and staircases).
The Parliament building is where the Prime Minister, Member of Parliament and Senators work to make laws that keep Canada the true north strong and free.

Today was fun, too. We drove into Quebec and had poutine; poutine is basically french fries with gravy and cheese curds on top. I swear I only ate six or seven fries before I was full! That was waaaaay too much gravy for me to handle. Then we visited the Canadian Museum of History. I learned about everything from Terry Fox to the Magna Carta. They also had a special exhibit on Ancient Greece. Let’s just say that in ancient cultures they really enjoyed painting and carving people in the nude! Awkward. Then we stopped for gelato. I got Oreo Cheesecake and it was delicious! Our first days in Ontario have been a great success!
