Most people are super excited about starting some sort of a nutrition and wellness plan, but pull away as soon as a plan is set in motion.

I totally get the importance of planning good nutriton as a daily habit. I understand how to structure it, why we choose certain foods throughout the day or depending on our activity level, and why portion control is important. It all makes so much sense to me and I’m baffled by why its not as clear to everyone else.

Getting into a momentum for a nutriton program like any new habit is much easier when you commit with a friend, or you can rely on coaching. Someone to be accountable to provides better chances for success. Left to our own devices often we fall back to our routines.

People often tell me they need to lose weight but then quickly forget what they said if they have travel plans or a holiday celebration. I’m not sure at what point traveling and the holiday seasons became the straw that broke the camels back when it comes to commitment for better and healthier nutrition. The reality is that eating well is a habit that has to be taken seriously and one that has to be a habit all year round regardless of season, travel plans, or celebrations. Eating consciously is vital to our health and longevity.

When it comes to food people bounce between extremes. We all go in for stuffings, creamy dressing salads, and huge cuts of meat, but then cut out entire food groups to compensate. People all of a sudden start talking about gluten free, dairy free, sugar free diets, and of course the ever so popular detox.

Our bodies are made up to be a perfect system.  And unless some of these foods are causing you real health issues, there’s not evidence that eliminating foods completely are better for you.

What makes much more sense is a plan of action. It’s as easy as picking up a book on good nutriton (not a diet book) that you can stick to daily, getting in touch with a nutrition coach or calling up a friend to join forces for accountability and sharing of experiences for success.

I work closely with my clients providing them with the knowledge, guidance, tools and motivation for lifestyle changes.
