Re: Farmland future on agenda, May 18

We at the Delta/ Richmond chapter of the Council of Canadians have spoken out with many others on the proposed industrialization of our farmland.

In your article it stated that we "support" MLA Vicki Huntington. We need to clarify that as a nonprofit, non-partisan organization, we cannot support a political party or a politician per se.

We are willing to work with all who are in this fight to save our farmland. That would include politicians, individuals or groups, regardless of affiliation, willing to take a stand and take actions to preserve our farmland.

The Council of Canadians and others are organizing a march and rally to protect our farmland and stop port expansion.

It's set for Saturday June 16 at 1 p.m. at Magee Park, corner of Arthur Drive and Ladner Trunk Road.

Let's speak out and get into the streets for our community. Bring signs, noise makers and yourselves.
