Cyber crime is on the rise and continues to be a concern for many including Optimist readers who participated in a recent online community poll.
The Optimist polled 117 readers and asked the question: Do you fear being hacked for fraud or spying purposes?
The poll ran from Nov. 4 to 11. Of the 117 votes, we can determine that 64 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:
Always 39.06 % local, 38.46 % total
Sometimes 50.00 % local, 45.30 % total
Never 10.94 % local, 16.24 % total
Results are based on an online study of adult Delta Optimist readers that are located in Ladner. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 9.04%, 19 times out of 20.
Delta Optimist uses a variety of techniques to capture data, detect and prevent fraudulent votes, detect and prevent robots, and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
