I would like to congratulate the mayor and council for their decision to move the Harris barn onto the property with Kirkland House.
Kirkland House is and was a farmhouse and now it will be again. There was already a grainery on the lot and now there will be a barn. All it needs is a couple of silos and a milk house to complete the setting.
I hope those that want to save other heritage buildings don't get the idea the Kirkland House property can be a dumping ground for any old building they want to save. If it does not contribute to creating a farmyard, it would ruin the setting.
Richmond has the London Farm and now we will have the Kirkland farmyard.
