With disappointment, I write to express my dismay at Mayor and Council's decision to approve a 40-unit condominium complex development on Hunter Road in Tsawwassen. This, despite an overwhelming number of letters (24), 5 speakers, written concerns and a petition, adamantly against the development in a wide-ranging variety of aspects.
Instead, with only 11 letters and one lone speaker in favour of this project, it seems that builders and property taxes won the vote.
Rather than being swayed by the protests of the majority community members who live on tiny cul-de-sac, our elected officials chose to focus on the developer's needs. Greed, power and profit uber aless.
Please remember this, voters, the next time you cast your ballots.
