The recent announcement by the British Columbia Nurses Union (BCNU) that nurses working with the public do not need to be vaccinated against COVID-19, as there is already a nursing shortage, floored me!
I pride my nursing education as being science-based and humanitarian, not on the need to further cull the vulnerable population to reduce the nurse shortage.
There certainly are more creative approaches to deal with the nurse shortage that are ethical.
