I would like to echo Brian Johnston’s online letter of Dec. 3 stating that the proposed six storey building height for Ladner Village is a terrible idea. I’m not against smaller development ideas, but to even consider six storeys is nonsense. Six stories would densify an area that already has limited road, pedestrian and bike access.
When the Ladner Market or the annual Car Show are happening in that area it would be a nightmare with six storey buildings.
Don’t destroy a wonderful village that truly is unique. If people want more density to the extreme, they can move to Richmond.
With only 10 months until the next municipal election in October, the Mayor and Council need to look carefully at this proposal and consider community feedback.
