Letters: COVID’s common sense exceptions

Point Roberts is a great example of the territorial uniqueness and there must be an exception for Tsawwassanians taking a COVID test upon returning from the very short trip up there.

The border crossing into Point Roberts.

Editor:

We all know that there are rules and there are exceptions.

They must be there as it is impossible to have all the people, territories and situations identical.

Point Roberts is a great example of the territorial uniqueness and there must be an exception for Tsawwassanians taking a COVID test upon returning from the very short trip up there.

Otherwise there would be a great paradoxe that most suffering Point Robert's residents will gain only marginal economical relief after borders are open in early November. It will be not attractive anymore and not practical to drive there to gas up and buy a few items in the International MarketPlace than waste all the savings plus additional $50 on paying for the test. It is obvious to everyone where we are going, how long we stay and our activities up there. We go only two km from the border, stay only one hour at the most on average and spend a very short time indoors.

If our newly re-elected MP Carla Qualtrough doesn't start acting on this issue immediately and brings it to a successful conclusion then all the statues of governmental structure, citizenship and democracy doesn't make sense anymore.
