This letter writer is recalling a recent wonderful experience at Westham Island Herb Farm.

Editor:

I would like to congratulate the Ellis family and staff at the Westham Island Herb Farm, for an outstanding display of their years’ work.

We attended their season's windup and were most impressed. In spite of challenges faced by an abnormally long dry summer, they managed to produce a spectacular abundance of food, all on their home soil. The yard was ablaze with pumpkins galore, while bins of earthy coloured squash lined the walkway. Assorted veggies, homemade goodies as well as a variety of local meats, were available to complete any gourmets taste.

Helpful hands assisted us to our car with our purchases, making a cold and windy day, one of warmth and appreciation.

As we drove away, we felt a deep sense of gratitude for our Delta farmers, their challenges and their ability to provide for us, an abundance of such amazing products.
