We recently moved to Ladner after more than 30 years of living in Vancouver.
Although Vancouver is a great city with a lot to offer, it is becoming bogged down with the constant traffic and the never ending construction.
Ladner, being only a half hour from the big city, is just the perfect scenario for living. I could go on about its attributes, but you already know what they are.
But what has been the most pleasant surprise about living in Ladner these last two months, has been the friendliness of its citizens. Perhaps this is true of most small communities, but I don’t believe so. How refreshing it is to be on a walk and actually have someone look at you and say hello, or be shopping in the village and be greeted by a warm smile. I hate to say it, but that rarely happened in Vancouver. (I assume the stress of the busy city has worn many Vancouverites down.)
Hats off to Ladner you are a wonderful throw back in time, in neighbourly friendliness!
PS the lights in the trees along the village streets is a festive touch.
